262 - The Room (2003) (w/ Joey from So Wizard)

Join me as we say “What a story, Mark!”, definitely have the cancer, and keep our stupid comments in our pocket, all while discussing the “Citizen Kane of bad movies” - ‘The Room’ with the help of the legendary Joey from So Wizard Podcast. You can (and should) find Joey and his awesome podcast on Twitter at @SoWizardPodcast or on their website http://www.sowizardpodcast.com/ The Room is a 2003 American drama film written, produced, executive produced and directed by Tommy Wiseau, who stars in the film alongside Juliette Danielle and Greg Sestero. The film centers on a melodramatic love triangle between amiable banker Johnny (Wiseau), his deceptive fiancée Lisa (Danielle) and his conflicted best friend Mark (Sestero). A significant portion of the film is dedicated to a series of unrelated subplots, most of which involve at least one supporting character and are left unresolved due to the film's inconsistent narrative structure. The work was reportedly intended to be semi-autobiographical in nature; according to Wiseau, the title alludes to the potential of a room to be the site of both good and bad events. The stage play from which the film is derived was so-called due to its events taking place entirely in a single room. We Watched A Thing is supported by Dendy Cinemas Canberra. This week we’re hitting it Greek style, as Superman takes on the titans all while we discuss the third film in Tarsem SIngh’s filmography ‘Immortals’ with the help of patron of the show David Powell! Immortals is a 2011 American fantasy action film directed by Tarsem Singh and starring Henry Cavill, Stephen Dorff, Luke Evans, John Hurt, Isabel Lucas, Kellan Lutz, Freida Pinto, Joseph Morgan, Daniel Sharman, and Mickey Rourke. The film was previously named Dawn of War and War of the Gods before being officially named Immortals.
